Bruce C. Lawson b. 1966, son of: Jefferson B. Lawson b. 2-26-1927 Ben Tree, WV, son of: James A. Garfield Lawson b. 3-20-1888 KY, son of: Henry T. Lawson and Mary M. Henderson. I have looked at the 1880 Carter KY census online and the older siblings for James match what I have. William C., Robert, & Ester S. From the bible I also have additional siblings: Jeff, Ellen, Ellira & Neoma. The census lists a child Amy E. which could be one of these other girls with "E" names. this appears to be the same family as you have listed. I have some siblings for Henry Lawson but none for Mary Henderson. I was guessing that the R.J. Henderson on the 1880 census was Mary's father due to birth places given by all and the proximity of residence to the Lawson household. My question for you folks is how was the marriage date found for Henry & Mary? I am also confused as to the years of birth given by your trees in comparison to the census for 1880. If taking the ages from the census, Henry would have been born @@1849 and Mary @@ 1854. But looking at the age of child William, that would have made his mother 12 years old when he was born! Have any of you seen a copy of this census that possibly differs from what I find on the USGENWEB census sites? Possibly there is a transcribers error on the one I have saved from the site. From the bible I also have Mary Henderson's mother as a "Sarra", no father's name. Of course that name could be an error in a family members memory. It would sure seem that the Henry & Mary I have are the same as what each of you have listed. Does anyone have any knowledge of where these two died? Our surviving family say that Henry lived with son James after Mary's death and think the family would have been in either WV or VA at time of Henry's death. Unfortunately the grandchildren of Mary & Henry that survive were born after Mary died or just babies when Henry was still living. I am hoping to someday locate obituaries for them if possible. Any answers to my questions that any of you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Patti

She also shows up in the 1850 age 6 and 1860 census age 16 which puts her being born 1843/1844 1850 District #2, Carter Co., KY HENDERSON, Robert J., 34, farmer, $300, b. KY; Ama, 26, b. I would say the 1880 is wrong or she should not show up in the 1860 or 1850. As far as census takers back then went??? It could have been one of her kids giving the information when he showed up. I have found many times where they were wrong. I don't have a lot of information on her line but I will post what I have on the Henderson's at the bottom. You can find more information at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~warner/surnames.htm I don't have anything on where they died or where they are buried. Thanks, Darrell References
