From the will of her father, William D. Hawkins,- my daughter Mary Ann Stroud (now Mary Ann Potts) I will and bequeath the sum of $200 to be paid by my executors in two payments of $100 in two years afterwards for which they are required to have her own receipt if living. If not it shall be put to interest till her children come of lawful age for their use. The will stated that if she was not living at the time of her legacy payment, the amount shall be granted to her children. This may mean that she had at least one Potts child in addition to her son Francis Stroud, and/or there are other Stroud children not yet discovered.
