    Mary Golden married Thomas Stockton, Sr., on 28 Oct 1775 in what is now Henry County, Virginia. Thomas and Mary moved from Henry County to what is now Sevier County, Tennessee by 1783. They lived on the north side of the French Broad River until about 1795 when they moved to Cumberland (now Clinton) County, Kentucky. Stockton's Valley is named after Thomas Stockton, Sr.
