Mary Emmick, the daughter of Nicholas and Susanna Emmick, was born c 1797 in Pendleton County, (West) Va. She came with her parents to Breckinridge Co. Ky. in 1809. About 1819, she married James Henderson, son of William and Mary Henderson. In 1829, Hancock County was formed out of parts of Breckinridge, Ohio and Daviess Counties, Ky. In May 1831, James Henderson died in Hancock County, KY. His wife relinquished her right to administer his estate, and the Hancock county court appointed William Mason the administrator, with Nicholas Emmick and Samuel Henderson the bonded securities.
The following year in May 1832, Mary Henderson died, and William Mason was appointed administrator of her estate by the Hancock County, Ky. Court with John Henderson the bonded security.
