  3.   Source:Whittemore, Henry. Genealogical Guide to the Early Settlers of America, p. 171, says Francis Eliot of Braintree had children Mary b. 1641, ..., Mary again b. 1653 ... Obviously his daughter Mary that lived would be expected to be the latter one, but it is not clear how Mary b. 1653 could possibly have married in 1662. Since no such record is found in the VR Braintree, the 1653 birth is assumed to be an error.
