Dated 20th of May, 1663. In presence of Sam: Torrey, Robt. Vose.

  4.   Mary Bull is said to be of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England (Savage). Mary married first to Robert Pond, second to Nicholas Ellen and third to Daniel Hensher / Hanshaw. Based on her age at death of 80 years in 1719 she was born 1636. She was certainly old enough to be mother of Martha Pond and Mary Pond. The will of Robert Pond names his beloved wife Mary and names his brother-in-law John Bull and brother William Pond overseers of his will and the raising of his children in 1662. She was the widow of Robert Pond when she married in 1663 to Nicolas Ellen [3d. of the (5th. mo:) 1663]. Mary (Bull)[Pond] Ellen was executrix of his estate of Robert Pond and also "appoynted" were "John Bull of Boston and William Pond of Dorchester overseers of the Same Will and the Said William Pond." They deeded land in Dorchester of Robert Pond in 1671 to pay debts for her raising Robert Pond's children. The will of Nicholas Ellen only names Martha Pond and Mary Pond as Mary's children. Earlier children must have been by a first wife of Robert Pond and not Mary. The estate of Isack Grosse of Boston, brewer, [Will dated 29:3:1649; Inventory 5:4mo:1649] owed debts to Samson Anger and Olive Ellen of Dorchester for wine and John Ball of the Isle of Sholes. Were "John Bull" and John "Ball" the same persony? Who was Olive Ellen of Dorchester, She being old enough to run a business selling wine in 1648?

    Mary was certainly mother of:

    Mary (Pond) Gross 1657-1732

    Martha Pond 1660-?

She was mother to Nicholas Ellen's youngest known son Nicholas Ellen born about 1668.

Mary was mother to Daniel Hanshaw 1671-1695 when she was 35 years of age.
