Parentage

There are many Ancestry Member Trees claiming that Mary was either the daughter of John Bracken (1710-1770) or his brother Thomas Bracken (1706-1780). Both possibilities appear problematic. Thomas Bracken named a daughter Mary, wife of James Guttory in his will (apparently ruling this Mary out), and John Bracken in many Ancestry Trees married the same woman (Martha Green) as did his brother Thomas. Other trees have combined both Thomas and John into a single person, "John Thomas Bracken". Additional research and sources are needed to prove Mary's parentage.
