Mary Bracey was baptised on 20th December 1724 at Letchworth in Hertfordshire, daughter of Isaac and Jane Bracey.

On 11th October 1750, aged 25, she married a labourer called Michael Surrey or Sawrey at Letchworth. He was from the small parish of Caldecote, a few miles to the north. They settled in Caldecote after their marriage, having three sons baptised there between 1754 and 1764.

Michael died in 1766. Mary's son Michael died in 1776. Back in Letchworth, Mary's father died in 1778 and her mother in 1779.

Mary died at the age of 60. She was buried at Caldecote on 14th August 1785.
