BIRTH: MARRIAGE: CENSUS: DEATH: BURIAL: HISTORY: Ebenezer came to Ancaster twp., Upper Canada in 1804 with his parents, John and Rachel. His family later moved to Brant county. The census for South Dumfries twp., Brant county for the year 1842 shows Ebenezer, his wife Mary and their 7 children living with Ebenezer's parents on their farm on Con. 3 Lot 6. Ebenezer's father died in 1843 and his mother in 1844 and Ebenezer inherited the property. The census for Brant county for the year 1851 shows Ebenezer and Mary M. owning the farm near St. George, Ontario [Con 3 Lot 6]. The census of 1861 for Norwich, Oxford county, shows the family owning a farm there. To date Ebenezer and Mary M. cannot be located on later census returns, although they were alive until 1880 and 1900 respectively.

In 1915 a 300 million dollar law suit was initiated by the Estate of Henry Baker by his heirs that included the Almas family. The lawsuit was against the City of Philadelphia and such large corporations as Pittsburg Steel. It involved the property of Henry Baker's estate, that was reported to be two-thirds of the site of present-day Philadelphia. It was the location of Henry's farm, where Christian met his future wife, Magdalena. The Estate of Henry Baker lost the case on a technicality.
