[edit] Birth & Early YearsMarvin Henry Jahn was born in Horton Township, Osceola County, Iowa, United States on 17 Jan 1914 to Walter Jahn & Freida Mueller. He was the first of 3 children born to them. He was baptized at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Horton Township, Osceola County, Iowa on 18 Jan 1914. His sponsors where: Heinrich (Henry) Jahn, George Ostermann,Heinrich (Henry) Mueller, & Theresa (Emma) Jahn. His family stayed in Iowa only for a short time, before his father followed his parents up into Minnesota, settling on a farm in Sundown Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. His family later move onto his grandparents farm in Brookville Township, Redwood County, Minnesota[edit] Teen YearsMost of his teen years were spent on the farm in Brookville Township. He enjoyed many happy occasions with his cousins. When he was 20 his mother passed away suddenly.
[edit] Married YearsMarvin married Gertrude Schenk on 17 Dec 1936 in Brown County, Minnesota. They lived in Brown County, Minnesota for a few years where their first child was born. They later moved to Marshall, Lyon County, Minnesota. Here 3 more children where born to them. Marvin was a truck driver by trade. [edit] Death & BurialMarvin died 2 Dec 1958 at St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. He was 44 years old when he died of a coronary occlusion. He was driving a truck at the time. Thomson Brothers Funeral Home, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota handled the arrangments. He was buried in Marshall Cemetery, Marshall, Lyon County, Minnesota on 4 Dec 1958
