Nancy Hooper executed the second codicil to her will on 1847.3.30 in Cumberland County, Virginia. "I Nancy Furguson of the County of CumbeNotes for Martha F. "Patty" Cox: being of a sound and disposing mind and memory do make this further codicil to my last will and testament and append the same thereto by wafers which said last will and testament is dated the 28th day of June 1838. I give to my great niece Martha F. Cox the daughter of Albert Cox a negroe Girl child by the name of Lucy the child of Phoebe to her and her heirs forever. As witness my hand and seal this 30th day of March 1847. Nancy her x mark Furguson (seal)
