About Jane

Martha Jane Ashby, she went by Jane all her life, she was 5 ft. 5 in.,weight about 120 lb. she was buried in Bethlehem Cemetery on the North end by her late Husband Carlos Hendricks on the north end of the cemetery, the cemetery is located east of Madisonville, KY at the intersection of Hwy 70 and Hwy 85 on the southwest of the intersection. Jane was very faithful to the Church of God in which she was a member, also the piano player for the church, she was a very fine Christian lady and she made a wonderful daughter-in-law in fact she was the one setting with Mattie Lee Hendricks when she died she was loved and respected by the whole Hendricks family.

Martha Jane Hendricks, 55, of 474 Hall Street, Madisonville, died at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday in Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Hopkinsville, Born in Hopkins County on Aug. 17, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert Emmett Ashby. A secretary for Hart Equipment Company, she was a member of First Church of God. She is Survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Gamblin, of Dawson Springs, and Letitia Vandygrif, of Madisonville; one son, Jeffery Hendricks, of Nortonville; her mother, Virginia Ashby of Madisonville; three brothers, Emmitt Ashby Jr. of Gulfport, Miss., Daryl Ashby, of Clarksville, Ind., and Dwight Ashby, of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and five grandchildren.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Church of God, with Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.Friends may call at Barnett-Strother Funeral home 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m-noon. Friday, followed with visitation at the church 1-2 p.m.
