                                Marlene Ann Evans
 Marlene Ann Evans Thomas was born in Pettigrew, Arkansas, the daughter of Elbert Elhannon and Flora Brandenburg Evans. She was an emplpoyee of Baldwin Piano in Fayetteville. She died from injuries in a car wreck by the Weddington Store, when a drunk driver ran into her vehicle. Her daughter, Cathy Johnson, was seriously injured in the same accident. She and her family lived just up the road outside Siloam Springs at the time. She died in the intensive care unit of Tulsa's Osteopathic Hospital. 
 She left behind a husband, John O'Brien Thomas, whom she married February 12, 1978 in Madison County, Arkansas. She was also survived by her parents, a number of brothers and sisters, and five children: Gary Johnson, Cathy Johnson, Greg Johnson, Tessa Thomas, and John Patrick Thomas. 
 She and her husband are resting in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Also interred there are her parents, Elbert and Flora Evans, her maternal grandparents, Wilgus "Wig" and Lillie Messer Brandenburg, her maternal great-grandparents, Joseph B. and Nancy Ann Brandenburg Brandenburg, and two maternal uncles and aunts, Bert and Bertha Elva Thomas Brandenburg and Morgan and Ocie Ola Stepp Brandenburg.
