Mrs. W. Anderson Called by Death
Lived in Appleton Twenty-Five Years - Funeral Thursday at Fond Du Lac
Mrs. Marietta Anderson, widow of Warren Anderson, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. S. Stevenson, in Chicago, of heart disease. The body was taken to her old home in Fond du Lac, and the funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in that city, from the home of her son, B. H. Anderson, with burial in the Eldorado cemetery. Dr. John Faville will officiate.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by eight children, fourteen grand children and eight great grandchildren. The children are: Miss S. E. Anderson, Mrs. F.I. Richardson, Appleton; B. H. Anderson, Fond du Lac; Mrs. Ira Hall, Minneapolis, Minn; Mrs. A. E. Berndt, San Francisco, Cal; Mrs. D. S. Stevenson, Chicago; Warren R., Eldorado, and John G. Minneapolis, Minn.
She was 78 years of age, having been born in 1833 in the town of Scriba, New York. When she was six years old the family moved to Pennsylvania and came to Wisconsin in 1849, settling on a farm in Fond du Lac county, where they lived for forty years. Mrs. Anderson was married to Warren Anderson June 11, 1851. He died fourteen years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson came to Appleton twenty-five years ago to live with their daughters, Miss S. E. Anderson and Mrs. F. I. Richardson, at 578 Durkee street. Mrs. Anderson was visiting with her daughter when death came.
According to a typed transcript of the family Bible of George Allanson Randall (Marietta's brother) Marietta was born Aug. 3, 1832. [Transcript generously shared by Helen Coverdale, but she does not have the original Bible.]
