  9. Godfrey J. Olivier.

Sent in a letter from Godfrey J. OLIVIER on 8 Mar 1995; he said it was from Stephen White. Both the French text from Port Royal's Register, and a translation of the burial record of Marie BERNARD, widow of René LANDRY, resident of Port Royal [Acadia], dated 11 Jan 1719. The transcript of the record in French clearly shows "l'anée mil sept cens dix neuf," but the English translation mistakenly gives year as "one thousand seven hundred nine." The record was entered by Fr. Justinien Durand, Recollet Missionnaire, and a marginal note says "Marie Bernard mere des Landry."
