Maria Farrell was born on 15th June 1880 at Stephen Street in Dublin. She was the daughter of a tailor named John Farrell and his wife Rosanna Reid. Maria was baptised when nine days old at Ss. Michael & John Church. She has yet to be traced after her baptism and probably died young - in 1911 her mother Rosanna reported that she had had ten children but only three were still living.
