The dates from the DAR cemetery record for Maria Bower Roe are almost certainly wrong. It is highly unlikely that her death would not have been reported (presumably by her husband) in the History of Shelby County if she had been still living, and she is not present in the 1900 US Census. Similarly, the birth date given in the Shelby County History is more likely to be accurate, being closer in time to the event, and most likely reported by her husband. The more recent (2000) cemetery readings are more consistent with the information in the County History.
