Some Ancestry Member Trees claim that Margery McClanahan's father was Elijah McClanahan, but it may be more likely that she was a daughter of John McClanahan and Frances Snodgrass, were also the parents of Sarah McClanahan, who married John McRoberts, the brother of Margery's husband, Samuel McRoberts, also in 1770. It should be noted that although the marriage of Sarah McClanahan and John McRoberts is listed in Botetourt County, Virginia marriage records, the marriage of Margery and Samuel McRoberts, is apparently not listed. Additional research is needed.
