From: WILLIAM BLACK and his descendants A genealogy of the descendants of William Black of Augusta County, Virginia and later of Clark County, Kentucky.

43.ANDREW BLACK was born in Montgomery County, Kentucky, July 1, 1807. He married Margaret Lockridge of the same County. They continued to live in Kentucky until the fall of 1851 when they moved to Putnam County, Indiana and settled on a farm about one mile west of Greencastle. In 1882 he moved to Greencastle where he died Oct. 9, 1885. In the obituary published in the Greencastle Banner it says "Mr. Black was born near Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, being the youngest of seven children, all of whom preceded him in death, so that he was the last survivor of his father's family." His wife, Margaret, who was born August 2, 1811, died July 5, 1863. Both are buried in the Greencastle Cemetery.

Message from www.ancientfaces.com following my placement of her picture: Maggie Watkins (Grandparents) Sent : Oct 19, 2005 - 7:26 AM From : Mike B William W. Watkins, father of Margaret (Watkins) Cameron, was a 2nd great-granduncle of mine. His parents were William A. Watkins and Temperance Hulbert. William was born in Rutland County, Vermont circa 1812 and removed with his parents to Genesee County New York in 1817. However, his father died shortly after moving to New York and his mother Temperance married William Sullings on 19 Oct 1819. William had two full sisters Louisa and Susan and five half siblings Ruth, Adelia, Julius, Harvey and David Sullings. Julius married Sarah Douglass in Hendricks County Indiana and was my 2nd great-granfather. My great grandmother Adeline (Sullings) Sherer was born in Greencastle on 12 Mar 1857. I believe that Julius worked with William Watkins as a carriage painter, a trade they both shared, in Greencastle. Julius moved his family back Plainfield, Hendricks County Indiana in circa 1818 and he died of Typhoid fever on 3 February 1859. I would be interested in connecting with any interested researchers working this family. I have more information on the Hulbert line and the siblings of William W. Watkins. I saw the photo of Maggie and Mary but, I do not think that Maggie had any sisters. I think I have followed William in the census after his marriage to Elizabth and I did not see any other children. However, I am not sure if Elizabeth Black was William's first wife or if he was married before. I have never found William or my Julius Sullings in the 1850 census but William W. Watkins, portrait painter, was listed in the 1851 Rochester, New York city directory. In 1853 Julius Sullings placed an ad in the Hornellsville, New York paper when he opened a new sign and carriage painting shop and he stated that he was late of Rochester but he was not listed in the 1851 city directory with William Watkins his half brother. I did find where Clifton Cameron was a Attorney and that he remarried a Mary. Do you have any information on Maggie's death or her parents deaths? END
