Shortly after the death of James Dugger, much of this family moved to Greene Co, IN. Apparently James' widow Margaret stopped off in Jackson Co, IN before that, as she married Andrew Ferguson there circa 28 Jul 1817 (date of marriage bond).

Why they were in Jackson Co, IN isn't too clear, but Margaret probably had relatives there, though I don't know who. (No Ross listings there in the 1820 census).

After their marriage, Andrew Ferguson and Margaret Ross Dugger Ferguson moved back to KY, but not back to Knox, going to Bullitt County instead, and they were listed there on the 1820 census. A Thomas Ross and "Jesse Rosson" were both listed in Bullitt Co, KY in 1820, and those could be Margaret's relatives. Her father was thought to be Thomas Ross, so that works out well. It is possible the Andrew Ferguson in 1820 Bullitt Co, KY is not the same family. The family may have been in Greene Co, IN already by then, but in 1820, the area that was to become Greene County was still part of Sullivan Co, IN and also part of a non county area, so it is possible they were in this "non county" area and didn't get listed on the 1820 census.

Andrew Ferguson and Julius Dugger were both charged with murder in 1824 in Greene Co, IN. Apparently Julius Dugger and Andrew Ferguson were charged with killing Isaac Edwards with an axe. Bill Ferguson, a descendant of Andrew Ferguson, says the family tradition is that they were getting revenge for a rape of Dugger's sister. They received seperate trials, and Andrew Ferguson was acquitted, but Julius was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to four years at the state penitentiary.

Andrew Ferguson and Margaret were found on the 1850 census in Greene Co, IN. Margaret's granddaughter (via son James Dugger) Margaret Dugger was residing with them. Margaret's son William Dugger was just three houses away.
