   My father, Patrick Carroll, who was the Son of James and Margaret Carroll, was born at St. Johns Newfoundland in British North America April 25th 1789. His father was born in the County of Armagh province of Ulster Ireland, and died at St. Johns Newfoundland. His mother was the Daughter of Joseph Pottle was born in St. Johns Newfoundland and died in the province of New Brunswick British North America.
