Advisory

Note: some researchers believe that Margaret was a daughter of Rev. Samuel Black, but he had a daughter named Margaret that (according to many sources) married Maj. Samuel Price.
One source claims that Margaret Black was the daughter of Samuel Black and Jane Porter, but this Margaret was too old to have been their daughter.

The Margaret Black who was the first wife of Samuel Price was the d/o Rev. Samuel Black. She was born around 1755. She died before 1797. Samuel Price then married another Margaret Black born around 1763 who was the d/o Lt.Samuel Black born 1727-1782 and Jane Porter. He was the s/o John Black and Nephew of the Rev. Samuel Black. The marriage of the latter was 1797. Both Price families lived in Greenbrier, VA. Rev. Black lived in Albemarle and Samuel Black, nephew, lived in Augusta Co. on South River, homestead called Pine Knot. His will is found in Chalkley's and starts out... I am.... 55 years old... Also, a son, William Black of Rev. Sam'l Black married Mary Black d/o Lt. Sam'l Black and Jane Porter
