Widowed, living in Methuen at 1850, 1860 & 1870 Census. In 1860, personal estate is valued at $1000 and personal estate valued at $300. From Estate of William Barker of Methuen and Nashville, TN Essex Probate Docket # 1729: "Sixthly in case that I should leave no child born to me of my wife Emmaline, I give and bequeath the som of five thousand dollars which is hereinto before given to said child in case one should be born to me as aforesaid to Margaret, Susan, Ann, Hannah, Henrietta and William Wardwell being my nieces and nephew, children of my sister Margaret the wife of Simeon Wardwell to be equally divided between them. And in case such child shall be born to me and should die leaving no issue the said sum of five thousand dollars, the income of which is given to each child in the second item of this will I give and bequeath to the said children of my sister Margaret to be equally divided between them, at the decease of said child."
