- ↑ Maggie Kaspersma, age 87, died at the Pondera County Hospital on Thursday, December 6, 1979. Funeral services were held at the Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, with Pastor Peter DeJong presiding. Burial was in the family section of Hillside Cemetery with Wyse Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She was born at Corsica, South Dakota on December 13, 1891. She came to Montana as a young child, with her family, and they settled at Manhattan, where she attended school.
She married John Kaspersma on March 9, 1910 at Manhattan, and they farmed there until 1913, when they moved northeast to Conrad, where they also were engaged in farming. They retired in September of 1952 and moved into Conrad, where she resided until the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in May of 1954, and also one daughter, Wilhemina in 1942, a son, John in April of 1974, and an infant son, Peter in 1913.
She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church.
Surviving are two sons: Leonard and Howard; one daughter, Dora, all of Conrad; one brother, Dick Verwolf of Manhattan; a half-sister, Mrs. John VanderArk of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a half-brother, the Rev. William Verwolf of Lynden, Washington.
Pallbearers were Abe Baker, Adrian VanDyke, John Mink, Clifford Paulsen, James Aitken and Ray DeVries.
