Mabel Landick, 96

LANCASTER, Calif. -- Mabel (Beck) Landick, 96, died at home, Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, after a period of declining health. She was the widow of Philip Gibbs Landick. Born in Newfoundland, daughter of the late Cyrus and Eliza Beck, she lived in California for the past 13 years. She had been aresident of the Winchester Apartments, New Bedford, Mass., from 1965 to 1986;previously living in Melrose, Mass., for many years. Mrs. Landick was a dedicated volunteer, while in New Bedford, for St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter, (name omitted) of Lancaster; a son, Philip Gibbs Landick Jr., of Hingham, Mass.; a nephew, (name omitted) and his wife, (name omitted, of South Dartmouth, Mass.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Eli Beck, Mallie Pike, Rachel Clarke, Evelyn Paull, William Beck, James Beck,Everett Beck and Ada Mayo. Her memorial service will be at noon Saturday in the Chapel of Grace Episcopal Church, County and School streets, New Bedford. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
