Michael Gray <MGray64564@@aol.com> sent me the following on William Thompson and his wife Lucretia. Note that Lucretia "may be daughter of Samuel and Lucretia (Bill) Holmes" (that from J. D. Morrill's work cited below, according to Michael in a later message). I note, though, that Wheeler's History of Stonington lists two Lucretia Holmeses in Stonington, where William was born! One was born 1759 and married Samuel Prentice; the other was born 1783, so neither could be William's wife. Nor would the Lucretia daughter of John Holmes and Mary born 14 July 1711 from New London records. But it does seem "Lucretia Holmes" was a fairly common name, and caution is in order.
