Now prior to being in Somerset Co, PA we have a Benjamin, Benjamin Jr., Leven, William, Peter, and Abraham Bennett on the list of taxables in nearby Pitt Townsip, Allegheny Co, PA (now Pittsburgh) in the 1780s. They were presumably father and sons. Leven was born in Harford Co, MD as were William and Peter. Cannot find Isaac or Abraham, though. Peter's son Aquilla (this seems to be a VERY POPULAR Harford Co first name) moves on to Ohio as do Leven Bennett and his family. I am trying to see if this Pittsburgh tribe of Bennetts is one and the same from Harford CO, MD and to see if that Isaac is my Isaac. I was also wondering if these Bennetts were not related to the Bennetts, Uties, Caters, and Claibornes who settled that area from Virgina. These Bennetts seem to have been from Lower Harford Hundred next to Spesutia Hundred (home of the Utie family).

    p. 195. Joseph married Mary Bennett in Mercer City, PA in 1804. Mary was the daughter of Laben Bennett. Laben immigrated from Holland married Mary Brady. Mary Brady was the daughter of Col. Brady whose wife was an Indian. Joseph and Mary had nine children, seven girls and two boys.

While some of the information in this history has proven correct, not all has. Mary Brady, dau of Col. Brady is not the mother of Mary Bennett. The whole Col.Brady thing did not pan out.
