    Leonard L. Markey, 82, of Muncie, and formerly of Fort Wayne, died at 5:05 a.m., Jan. 30, 2006, at Renaissance Rehabilitation Center, Muncie. He was born on Nov. 3, 1923, in Fort Wayne to Pearl and Calvin Markey. On June 19, 1947, he married Evanell Bordner, who died in 2003. Living most of his life in the Fort Wayne area, he graduated from Sidney High School and Indiana Business College. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the European theater from 1943 to 1945. He retired as supervisor of general accounting at Fruehauf Trailer Co., Fort Wayne, in 1986 after 35 years of service. He was a member of Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church; Highland Lodge 762, F&AM; American Legion Post 47; and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Fort Wayne. He was an avid golfer and a skilled carpenter. Survivors include two daughters, Janet L. (Dana) Vangets, and Laurie Hahn, both of Muncie; a brother, Roger (Carol) Markey of Bradenton, Fla: three grandchildren: Amy (Christopher) Smith, of Muncie, Todd (Michelle) Vangets of Indianapolis, and David Hahn of North Manchester; and two great-grandchildren, Brevin and Chaylee Smith, both of Muncie. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Jim Evans will officiate. Calling is also from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials to Cancer Services of Allen County.
