One of 15 out of 40 people that won prizes in a September 1911 show. (Ruel Neely, Robert Trimble, Flora Trimble also won prizes). Prizes were given for best exhibits of white corn, yellow corn, best ten ears, best one ear, and best stalk of cotton. Was also on Johnston County Corn growing team of 10 people (including Lee, Ruel, and Lucy Neely, Florence Tallon, Effie Reece and 5 others) that won first prize of $100 at the 1912 Oklahoma State Fair. Each of the 10 people got $10.
