Facts and Events
Lawrence Lane married Eleanor Smith Jackson after her husband died in 1821. This was in one of court transcripts from Meigs County about the disposition of land Samuel purchased there shortly before he died. (see Eleanor's Notes)

Lawrence and Eleanor are both 40 and under 50.

3 males 15 and under 20 Edward, Benjamin & Hezekiah, sons of Samuel, Eleanor's first husband
1 female under 5 new child of Lawrence & Eleanor (B)
1 female 5 and under 10 Mariah d/o Samuel
2 females 10 & under 15 Jane & Nellie daughters of Samuel
1840 Jackson County, (W)VA Census:
Lawrence and Eleanor are both 50 and under 60.
1 male 5 and under 10 new child of Lawrence & Eleanor (C)
1 male 15 and under 20 new child A from 1830 census
1 female 5 and under 10 new child of Lawrence & Eleanor (D)
1 female 10 and under 15 new child B from 1830 census
2 females 15 and under 20 Jane & Nellie, daughters of Samuel, Eleanor's first husband
I also found a record of a Lawrence Lane's marriage to Elizabeth Barnhart in 1849, but have been told that this was a marriage of the son of Lawrence Lane and Eleanor Smith Jackson. Need more research on this.
