“Lavius Farnham, Sr., the father of our subject, was also a native of Connecticut, born in Lisbon, where he grew to manhood and learned the trade of shoemaking. In connection with this, he also carried on farming. He married Miss Sarah Fuller, and they became the parents of three children. The father spent his entire life in his native State, dying there about 1835, in middle life. The wife and mother later joined her son, our subject, in this State, and died at his home in 1846. One sister, Martha A., became the wife of E. A. Charter, and the mother of seven children, all of whom are living. She died in September, 1885, and our subject has two of her children with him.”S2
