- Laura Kennedy was born on 8 June 1892, in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, to John Kennedy and Margaret Woods. According to a family story, her parents died when she was young, and she was raised by her siblings. We know that her father had died by 1899 (and perhaps soon after her birth), and her mother died between 1900 and 1903.
- In 1900 she was living with her mother and four or five older siblings (Maggie, Robert, Mabel, Edna, and perhaps Clara), at 246 Mayfield, Philadelphia. She had apparently not been going to school, although Edna had.
- In 1910, she was a boarder with Anna E Johnes at 2941 Rutledge St. She worked as a looper, at a hosiery. In 1914, she was living at 827 East Hilton St, and working as a mill hand.
- Laura was married to William Frederick Hafft, Senior, on 3 February 1914. They had two children: Mabel Hafft, and William Frederick Hafft, Junior. See the family page for more information about their life.
- Laura's husband William died in the influenza pandemic at the end of World War One, on 3 October 1918, in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. After his death, Laura lived with her brother-in-law, Louis Hafft, at 1419 West Dauphin Street, Philadelphia. The complete household included Louis and Isabella Hafft, August and Clara Hafft, their children Laura, John Wesley, and Henry Louis, along with Laura, her children William and Mabel Hafft, and a lodger, Addie Long. Laura was working as a housekeeper, at a bakery.
- Laura married Harry Frederick Ide Senior on 22 February 1921, in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. They had one child: Harry Frederick Ide Junior. See the family page for more information about their life.
- Harry Ide, Senior died there on 23 February 1935, in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
- They were living at 822 East Russell Street then. Laura's sister Anna Kennedy was living at 822 East Russell Street when she died on 24 October 1840. Also, Laura's brother John, who died on 28 August 1945, was living at 822 East Russell Street when he died.
- Laura Kennedy died on 25 April 1953, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, of carcinoma of rectum with spread (metastasis). She was buried on 29 April 1953, Oakland Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA, section O, lot 64. The funeral director was Kester. She was still living at 822 East Russell Street then. (Her daughter Mae and son-in-law Stanley Tularski continued living there, and eventually purchased it.)
