| N1. | Obituary.
Mrs. Laura B. Pope, daughter of L. F. and Elizabeth--Coker--of Trion, Ga. departed this life June 22nd 1899 to inherit the blessing for those whose walk in life is that of a true lady and Christ like.
Sister Pope died at her father's home (Trion, Ga.) where she had lived for about eighteen months. Just before she died she called to her bedside her youngest brother and talked with him concerning heaven. Then she called to her little child but could not talk.
Her remains were interred in the cemetery at Macedonia Church, Villanow, Ga., in the presence of the relatives of this country, and a large audience of friends.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. B. F. Hunt, who was personally acquainted with the deceased, and it is said that he had no trouble in finding words of praise and honor to speak of her.
The deceased was born in Monroe county, Ga. Soon after the family went to Griffin, Ga., which was her home till eleven years ago, when the family came to Whitfield county. After about three years in Whitfield, she came with her people to Villanow, Walker county where she lived for about five years, and then to Trion.
Sister Pope professed religion and joined the Baptist church at Rockyface, Ga., about eight years ago and had been a consistent member of a church of that denomination since.
In September 1894 she was married to Mr. D. F. Pope of Villanow, Ga. She leaves one little child in the hands of her father and mother whose parental care will no doubt enable him to steer his course through the innous difficulties of life while bright honors will await him to guide his footsteps, sustained by the common curses of man.
Her parents say Laura was never too tired nor too much vexed with the cares of life to respect and do for father and mother.
