Kenelm Winslow owner of the twenty-fourth lot, was the brother of Gov. Edward Winslow and came to America abt 1631. He removed to Marshfield about 1641, thence to Freetown about 1659. This lot was settled by Nathaniel, son of Kenelm, and Josiah, a grandson. Nathaniel did not long remain, but Josiah continued to reside thereon till his death, April 3, 1761 (at age 91 -- he was born Nov. 7, 1669).

Kenelm was a "joiner." On 6 January 1633/4 "Sam[uel] Jenny, the son of John Jenny, hath bound himself apprentice to Kanelm Winslow, of Plymouth, joiner" ^[4].

He was admitted as a freeman at Plymouth 1 January 1632/3 ^[5] and remains on the Plymouth list of freeman until 1639, when he appears on the Marshfield list, on which he appears until 1670. He served on various committees and positions in Plymouth and Marshfield from 1634 to 1657.

In his will, dated 8 August 1672 and proved 5 June 1673, "Kanelme Winslow Senior" ordered that "what estate I have formerly settled on my eldest son Kanelme ... shall remain unaltered" and bequeathed to "my son Nathaniel ... the half of my farm that I last lived upon ... as I gave him by a former deed of gift"; "and the other half of the farm to my wife, for the term of her natural life" and "after the decease of my wife Ellinor Winslow the said half of the farm shall return unto my son Nathaniel"; to "my son Job ... half of my land at Namassakett which is about fifty acres ... and the other fifty acres or thereabouts unto Kanelme Baker my grandchild"; to "my daughter Ellinor" £5; "my wife shall at her decease give unto Mary Addams an equal portion of the goods and moveables as to the rest of my grandchildren"; wife to be sole executrix and "Major Josias Winslow and my son Kanelme Winslow" to be overseers ^[6].
