In ye Name of God Amen I Joshua Whitney of Groton in ye County of Midelsex Within her Maj'ts Province of Ye massachusetts Bay in new England aged about seventy six years Being week of Body but of Sound and perfect mind and Memory praise Be to God almighty for it Do make and ordain this my presents and Last will and Testament In manner and forme following that is to Say) first and prinsipley I do Conmend my Sole in to ye hands of almighty god hoping throw ye merits and mediation of Christ my Saviour to have full and free pardon and forgiveness for all my sins and so Inherit Eternal Life and my Body I Doo Commit to ye Earth to a Decent Burial in such place as ye providence of god shall appoint and ye prudence of friends shall think meet and as touching ye disposal of all such Temporal Estate as god hath Bin pleased in mercy to Bestow upon me I Do Give and Bequeath of ye Same In maner following -

first I do will and appoint that my Just Debts be paid and my funerall Charges[???] by my Executors

[paragraph break added for readability] it'm I Do will and bequeath unto Abagail my now [?marri?]ed Wife ye free use of a quarter of ye Income of all my Real Estate In grotton both houseing and Land during her Continuing to Be my Widdow as also ye free use of all my Moveable Estate during her widowhood as afores'd Excepting ye utensels of husbandry and if her my Beloved wife Should Se[e] ocation to marry again I will unto her two Cows to be at her own disposal & furthmore, I do give her my Beloved wife in ye time of her widowhood free liberty to Bestow so much of ye movable Estate that is in her hands as shee in providence shall think fitt and that she can spare unto such of her Children as She shall [?Conceive?] Shall Stand in most Need

He not be Compeled to pay any untill four years after my Decease and then to pay Seven pounds ten shilling a year untill ye whole Be Compleated But if in Case ye providence og god should so order it that[?that?] he my son Joshua Whitney should happen to Dye Before ye time of ye s'd Legecy Set By me should be paid or any part there of should Be paid that then ye s'd Legecy shall Cease and be Null and shall not be demanded

as Concerning ye movables which may be Left after my wifes Decease I do will and Bequeath them unto my five daughters now Living and to my Daugther Huctchineses three Child Daughters they all to have an Eaqual Share with one of my own Daughters (Viz) Mary Peirce Elenor Shepard Sary Juell Martha Williams Elisabeth Farnsworth - and I do ordain Constitute and make my s'd Beloved wife above mentioned and my S'd Son william afores'd to be my sole Executors of this my Last will and testement and I Do hear by revoak make null and void all former wills and Testements by me made at any time and this my will let no man Revoak In wittness where of I ye s'd Joshua Whitney unto this my Last will and testement Do affix my hand and seal this sevententh Day of aprill Annoq'e Dom. one thousan Seven hundred and thirteen in ye twelfh year of her maj'ts Reign.[5]
