Theory so far:

This is a new ancestor. This is only a guess on date of birth, and date of death so far. Only one man by this name is on the 1850 census. It is probably too far from family to be him. At the moment I am assuming there is a good possibility that he died in 1850 or earlier. A possible Hannah V might be this Hannah (Vangilder) Raner. Hannah V married a Hedden Ball after 1850.

In the 1840 Federal Census there is a J Rayner in Brutus, Cayuga, NY. If I read it correctly the household consists of 1 male born between 1801-1810 might be Joshua, 1 female born between 1811-1820 might be Hannah? , 2 males born between 1835-1840 Jeremiah? and , 1 female born between 1835-1840.
