Brinton Genealogy, page 230 states

Joseph settled initially in Lampeter where he kept a store. He removed to Byberry where he bought a farm. He then moved to Fallston, Harford County, Maryland and finally to New Brighton. In New Brighton, he and his son Wilmer engaged in the lumber business.
