    Turner, Joseph, s. Jo[h]n Sr., Jan. 12, 1647 [dup. 1648]. [Josepth, Jan. 12, 1647, PCR]
[The duplicate record mentioned is actually a second son named Joseph born exactly one year after the first.]

Scituate records show two sons named Joseph, Plymouth Colony Records show two sons named Joseph, and there is only one baptism recorded in May 1649. Careful study show that the Plymouth Colony records are in error. The first Joseph was born 12 Jan 1647/48 and died after 3 days without being baptized. The second Joseph was born exactly one year later 12 Jan 1648/49 and baptized May 1649. (The PCR birth on 12 Jan 1650 is misrecorded or else it must be assumed there were three sons named Joseph all born on 12 Jan, all exactly one year apart.)
