Joseph3 Tibbetts (Jeremiah2, Henry1), of Dover Neck, born in Dover Neck 7 Aug. 1663, died there the last of 1745 or early in 1746. He married first, about 1796, Elizabeth -----, born 26 Dec. 1672, died 24 Feb. 1706/7; and secondly, in 1711. Catherine Mason, who survived him. In his will, dated 13 Feb. 1745/6 and proved 28 May 1746, he mentioned his children Joseph Tibbets, Elizabeth Downes, Judith Bickford. Lydia Giles, Catherine Tibbets, Mary Pearl and Hannah Tibbets, and his (the testator's) grandsons, Robert Hussey and John Hussey, the children of his daughter Margery, deceased.

9 Joseph Tibbetts (6), Dover, was apprent. by mo. and (7 [elder brother Jeremiah) to the weaver's trade with uncle Matthew Austin for 7 yrs. 12 Nov. 1677, when he was called -youngest- son, but depos. in Jan. 1729-30, ag. ± 66, that he liv. with Austin from 9 to 21. In 1688 he bot from John Pinkham the 20 a. lot P.'s fa. had in exch. with George Webb; in 1724 Pinkham called it Lot 13 which J. T. now lives on. … His 1st w. Elizabeth d. 24 Feb. 1706-7, ag. 35 y. 2 m., wanting one day. … He m. 2d Catherine (Mason, by Quaker rec. 1786). Will, 13 Feb.-28 May 1746, which his w. got him to make after his mind was weak, and Abraham Nute steadied his hand in making his mark (SJC 27422); James Nute and Samuel Young the widow's bondsm. as exec.
