Source:Descendants of Thomas Skillings is kind enough to provide a transcription of Joseph's claim for land "purchased by their father of George Cleaves". Since this was purchased from George Cleaves, it was the land of the father, since it was purchased 25 Mar 1658, before the son Thomas reached majority, and from it, we know Joseph and Benjamin are sons of "Thomas Skillion" the original immigrant. Joseph is labeled "of Marblehead". He married an Elizabeth, of unknown surname, possibly Gott, as named in a deed in Sept. 1719 selling to Edmund Clark (who m. his brother's Benjamin's daughter Elizabeth), and it appears he had no children.
