Facts and Events
Name Joseph Reid
Gender Male
Christening[1] 3 Sep 1830 Monasterevin, County Kildare, Ireland
Census[2] 1 Jun 1855 New York, New York, United States

Joseph Reid was baptised on 3rd September 1830 at Monasterevin in County Kildare, son of Mary Reid, formerly Dennan, and her husband Michael Reid, a mason. The family appears to have stayed at Monasterevin until the 1840s, judging by the baptisms of Joseph's younger siblings.

In about 1850, Joseph emigrated to New York, where he worked as a mason. His sister Theresa and brother Michael followed him over the next couple of years, before being joined by his mother and four other siblings around 1854. They all appear together in the 1855 census in New York City, with Joseph's mother described as a widow, indicating that Joseph's father had died.

Joseph has yet to be traced after 1855.
