    The ninth child of John and Elizabeth Alexander McClung was born 26 July 1775.He resided at the old "McClung Mansion" near Fairfield, VA. He married 1) 9 Sep 1802, Eliabeth Wilson. She was born 13 Mar 1780 and died 19 May 1813. They had five children. (105)

    Joseph married 2) 22 Sep 1814, Esther "Hettie" McClung. She was a sister of Capt. Henry McClung. Joseph and Hettie had had three children. (109) She died 11 Dec 1852. Joseph died 23 Mar 1866.
