FITZHUGH of said county Gent. .. have sold one parcel of land containing 4 acres of land lying on the Dam commonly called Kings Dam & beginning by & below the place where Capt. JOHN WITHERS deced and JOHN BARTON were ( ) to a mill ... do by these presents bargain sell to WILLIAM FITZHUGH as much timber from off my land next adjacent as will sufficiently suffice to build a timber mill ....” Jos.     On pp 62–63; recorded pp 186–187, on 12 Oct. 1703:

    “... I JOSEPH KING of county Stafford this 3d day of September 1703 .. Now know ye that in consideration of sum 4000 pounds of Tobo. & cask & one cow & calf paid by WILLIAM SOWELL of aforesaid county .. have sold all that tract of land lying in Stafford County containing 50 acres ... [of the 5200 acre patent] Robert Stinson sold part thereof being 500 acres to ROBERT KING which by the records of the county will appear 100 acres of the 500 acres by Robert King sold to JASPER BENNET of this county which by the records of this county will appear & the remaining part of the 500 acres of land by the Last Will & Testament of Robert King bearing date 12th day of Augt. 1689 he gave unto his 2 sons JOSEPH and BENJAMIN the lower part to Joseph and the upper part to Benjamin to be divided between them and Now Know ye that I JOSEPH KING have sold unto WILLIAM SOWELL 50 acres of part of the aforesaid tract of land given to me lying upon the land of my Brother Benja. King and running down the Dam & so towards the land I now have seated upon so far as shall make up the complemt. of 50 acres of land ..”. Joseph King (his mark); wits. John Brewton (his mark), Ann Lucas (her mark), Eliza. Brewton (her mark). John Brewton appeared in court as Joseph's attorney.

    “... I JOSEPH KING for a valuable consideration already reced have sold unto WM. FITZHUGH of county Stafford fifty four acres of land part of the within 185 acres of land lying and being in Stafford County ... this 14th day March 1704 coming five”, adjoining Ambrose Harlow, Philip Alexanders, and Richd. Alife. Jos. King (his mark); wits. Jos. Davis, John Brewton. The deed and patent were both recorded.

    “... this 11th day June 1705 .. Now Know ye that I JOSEPH KING for sum 4000 pounds of Tobo & cask and one cow & calf paid by WILLIAM SOWELL of afsd county .. have sold a tract of land in fee simple it being 50 acres lying in St. Pauls Parish in County Stafford & part of a tract of land given to me by my deced Father ROBERT KING late of this county and the 50 acres of land formerly sold by me to Wm. Sowell & acknowled in Stafford County Court as the records of the county will more at large appear & since by me escheated & pattent granted to me by Collo. ROBERT CARTER Agent to the Proprietors of this Northern Neck & to make to William Sowell a more sufficient right to sd 50 acres of land have given unto Wm. Sowell this new deed for the 50 acres of land beginning upon the land of my Brothers BENJ. KING & JOHN KING down the Dam so far as shall make up the quantity of 50 acres ..”. TODD of county afsd .. have sold 100 acres of land being in Stafford County in St. Pauls Parish it being part of that 185 acres given to me by my Father ROBT. TODD of county aforesaid .. have sold 100 acres of land being in Stafford County in St. Pauls Parish ... being part of the land given by my Father ROBT.
