Page 319 of Jacobus' book History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield: Joseph had died abt 1 year before his father, Henry, wrote his 1682 will which mentioned that there was a "portion due to Est. of my son Joseph per her father Godwin's will; five children of son Joseph." Jacobus later edited another book which is a bit more specific saying the portion due Joseph's estate was from Joseph's father-in-law's (Godwin's) will.

Page 322 JACKSON, JOSEPH, s of Henry married Mary Godwin, dau. of George. She m (2) Joseph Seeley, and rem(oved) to Cohansey, NJ.

  Inv. 31 Oct 1681.  Widow Mary; one son and four daus.  Father Henry living.  Matthew Sherwood and Samuel Morehouse appointed overseers.  On 12 Apr 1687, Joseph Seeley, now husband of the widow, was to receive the portions for the five children.  On 17 Mar. 1687, Hannah Galpin, dau of Henry Jackson, testified that portion given by George Godwin to his dau. Mary, sometime wife of Joseph Jackson, had been paid.
  Francis Bradley receipted 1704 to Joseph Seeley for his wife's portion in Est. of her father Joseph Jackson, Sr.
