    [Note: since no explanation is given, one might assume knowledge of death in 1787 is based on probate of father who d. 28 Sep 1786. Examination of that probate [Middlesex 11266] merely seems to show a lack of participation, which may be explained by distance combined with the estate being insolvent, so requiring no distribution. So, no basis for this death date has been discovered. There is a Joseph Hide listed in 1790 census in Arundel, though whether he is the same, or not, is completely unknown.]
