Children of Benjamin Harrington and Abigail Bigelow: "P. Joseph, b. Weston, 1690; m. Martha Hastings."

[Note: The coverage in this source seems flawed, and no evidence is provided to justify it. To start with, compare it to the other sources cited.

No evidence that Benjamin had a son Joseph is found (there is no probate file, but no birth record has been found and no son Joseph is given by Bond). Further, Joseph and Martha's children are said to be born in Weston (p. 281), when they are actually found in the Watertown records. Thus, the arrangement in this source appears to invent a Joseph Harrington to be Martha Hastings' husband, and at the same time, the most likely husband for Martha Hastings remains unpaired and unfollowed (p. 86).

On the other hand, the birth of Joseph 4 Feb 1690/91 is recorded in Watertown to Daniel Harrington and Sarah Whitney. In Daniel's will of 1729, Daniel names a son Joseph and gives him blacksmith tools.

A deed in 1720 (Middlesex Deed Vol. 20, p. 405) shows "Joseph Herrington of Wattertown ... Blacksmith & Martha Herrington my Wife, the only daughter of Joseph Hastings" quitclaim their rights in the estate of "our aboves'd Father Joseph Hastings" to Ebenezer Hastings. In another deed in 1740 (Vol. 45, p. 684) "Joseph Harrington of Watertown ... Blacksmith and Martha his wife" discharge their brother Eben'r Hastings acknowledging receipt of their share of the personal estate of their brother Joseph Hastings.]
