BURLINGTON — Mr. Joseph Harold Fogleman, 87, of 2514 Parrish St., died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Duke University Medical Center after 2 ½ weeks of failing health.

A native of Burlington, he was the husband of the late Dorothy Lee Hearne Fogleman and the son of A.H. Fogleman and Lula Brown Fogleman, both deceased. He was a retired credit manager for Duke Power and an active, lifetime member of Macedonia Lutheran Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, active in the 83rd Infantry Division Association.

Survivors include a son, Mr. Harold Lee Fogleman and his wife, Peggy Bruner Fogleman, of Burlington. Mr. Fogleman was a loving and caring grandfather to his three granddaughters, Mrs.. Betsy Reams and her husband, Joe, of Durham, Mrs.. Julie Ollis and her husband, Gary, of Morganton, and Miss Katy Fogleman of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs.. Mary Lou Preston, and two brothers, Brown Fogleman and Paul Fogleman.

Mr. Fogleman enjoyed his activities at the Senior Citizens’ Clubs of Burlington and Haw River with his longtime friend and companion, Mrs.. Penny Craddock of Reidsville.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Stephen Rust. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 3 to 5 this afternoon and at other times at the home of the son, Harold Fogleman, 1063 N. Riverview Drive, Burlington.
