  • cos1776 Note: According to the usgwarchives transcript of the Carter Prayer Book, Mrs. Frances Ball "Departed this Life at 5 mins to 8 a clock in the Morning of ye 3d day of Sept 1699 three hours after she was delivd of a Son", but the name of the son is NOT identified. The next entry records the death of her son John Ball Carter on 1 Jul 1700.1 Most researchers assume that there was only one son, but it is NOT explicitly stated as such.
