'Joseph Boreman ([son of] Samuel), born Mch. 12, 1650; died unmarried, 1676. ... Nothing certain is known of the fate of these two brothers [Joseph and John], but from the fact that they both died in 1676, their inventories being taken on the same day, Feb. 27, 1676-7, it is supposed that they perished in King Philip's War.'
