Some allege that she married her brother-in-law Jonathan. However as per the research of Jeannine S. Missaoui, who discovered through Harwich Vital records, that this was Bethia Godfrey, not Barbary Godfrey who married Jonathan. Again, as per Jeannine's research, Barbary was widowed at the death of Elijah on Nov. 1, 1778 (Headstone Inscription) & remarried to Ebenezer Weeks on May 25, 1781 at Harwich, Barnstable Co., MA (as per LDS records).
